Founded by Dr. Jamie Smith, Icon was conceptualized after almost 20 years of chiropractic experience to offer superior patient care. Great attention to detail was taken to create a calm and inviting environment for our patients to enjoy during their wellness treatments.
We are happy to offer our patients Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture services as well as Custom Orthotics for healing, relief, and corrective care.
Dr. Jamie has created a clinic that is specifically designed for superior patient care. Having the opportunity to build a clinic from scratch has allowed Jamie to build on what has worked in the past and focus on areas of improvement. At Icon, modern design, sound resistant construction and the latest TheraLase© technology converge to provide the highest level of patient care. Meet Dr. Jamie
Dr. Jamie graduated from Chiropractic college in December of 2004. After completing Canadian exams and receiving her license from the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors, she started practicing in February 2005. Jamie did her preceptorship, became an associate and then partner at an office in St. Albert where she practiced until April 2022.
Using Diversified (Hands on) adjusting, Thomson Drop Table, Activator and soft tissue work, Dr. Jamie enjoys using different techniques depending on the patient, preference and issues being addressed. Dr. Jamie focuses a lot of her continuing education on pregnancy and pediatric adjusting and loves having a family practice where everyone feels welcome and comfortable in the office.
When she is not at the clinic, Jamie enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching Oilers games and getting outside in the summer with the kids.
Meet Dr. Val
Dr. Val pursued her undergraduate studies at MacEwan University. She then travelled to Portland Oregon to complete both a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in September of 2024. Part of Dr. Val’s schooling included completing her internship with Dr. Jamie in the summer of 2024.
She has developed a deep understanding of biomechanics, neurology, and anatomy to provide individualized care that addresses the root causes of pain and dysfunction. Val is committed to helping patients achieve not just relief, but long lasting recovery to ultimately reach their fullest potential!
Here in the clinic Dr. Val utilizes diversified spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, modern techniques and rehabilitative exercises.
Outside of the office she loves the Edmonton Oilers, snowboarding, and all dogs no matter their fluffiness!

Amy Tripp - RMT
Amy is a professional massage therapist with over 20 years experience. Her areas of expertise are Deep tissue massage, Chinese glass cupping, Hot stone, Relaxation massage, and Reiki.Throughout her career, Amy has advanced her span of knowledge by learning new techniques, from taking many courses. Amy’s passion for massage has even taken her to Thailand to study Thai massage in Chiang Mai, which she incorporates into her treatments. By providing a friendly environment and very approachable attitude, she ensures that all her clients treatment goals are met.
Shawn Douglas Labrosse - RMT
Since beginning his journey as a massage therapist in 2016, Shawn has come to understand the universal need for relief. He holds the conviction that a sound mind thrives in a sound body. Shawn’s passion for aiding individuals in reclaiming their sense of self has only deepened through diverse experiences. Open dialogue is the cornerstone of his collaborative approach to addressing patient needs. Shawn’s tenure in various clinics and chiropractic settings has broadened his expertise and deepened his understanding of bodily health. Shawn is pleased to offer a variety of types of RMT treatments including deep tissue, MVA therapy, sports massage, lymphatic massage, and therapeutic massage.
Ashton Helm - RMT
Ashton is excited to be a practicing massage therapist at Icon Chiropractic and Wellness clinic. Her interest in how the connection of each muscle, joint and tissue affects the body and mind as a whole is what drew her to massage therapy. The functionality of our body, mind and mental health, how they support and sometimes challenge each other is what she is passionate about both in her personal and professional life. Ashton is proud to assist every body, injury, walk of life and well being to heal, thrive and excel. In her personal life, Ashton loves her garden, her cat Pancake, and being active with her friends and family.
Katrina Dao - Registered Acupuncturist
Katrina is a graduate of MacEwan University. She became an acupuncturist with the goal of making people feel better in any way she can. She has a passion for natural remedies and holistic healing. Her treatments consist of gentle needling, the use of essential oils and herbal remedies as well as fire cupping and gua sha.
Katrina prides herself in connecting with her patients emotionally while always making them feel at home and taken care of. She specializes in mental health (ex: anxiety, depression, sleep issues), musculoskeletal pain, as well as stress and relaxation treatments. She is eager to continue to grow as an acupuncturist while nurturing her connection with her patients.
Outside of the clinic, her interests include film photography, floral design and reading.

What To Expect
Here at Icon you can expect modern and accessible design, sound resistant construction, and the latest technology infused treatments to ensure a healing and relaxing experience.

Initial Assessment
Before treatment begins, we will complete an initial assessment upon your first visit. The assessment will include a full history and a problem focused exam that may include tests such as orthopedic and range of motion exams.

Diagnosis
We will provide you with a diagnosis based on your initial assessment and testing. From here we can determine the best course of treatment.

Treatment
Treatments at Icon Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic are patient specific. Doctor Jamie provides diversified (hands-on), activator and drop table adjustments. Soft tissue and Laser Therapies are also available depending on how the patient presents and their preferences for care.

Home Care
We will provide you with at home care exercises and stretches to decrease your reliance on care. We also have a variety of products for purchase in clinic to aide in home care.
